ABOUT US
"Children growing up in families trapped in food desert zip codes are at risk of becoming obese and developing early hypertension and full-blown high blood pressure that can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart disease" - Marian Wright Edelman
Jacob's Harvest is a social initiative to eradicate food deserts all across the world, starting with the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is our mission to provide no cost cooking classes and meal-kits to communities in need. As food inaccessibility increases, residents are relying more on fast foods and convenient stores for their nutrition needs. As a result our communities are at a higher risk of health problems such as low blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, etc. Food deserts are described by the USDA as low-income areas where residents don’t have access to fresh and affordable food. Join us in combating food deserts by donating or sponsoring a community event to serve families in need.

There are 450,000+ people in DFW who are living in a food desert

THE SOLUTION
Improving access to grocery stores does not eliminate the problems associated with the costs of a healthy food diet. O’s Kitchen wants to equip low-income communities by providing free meal kits and hosting healthy cooking classes in hopes to bridge the gap between food accessibility and education.
We are currently accepting donations for our Pilot Program. It is our desire to develop and execute a nutrition program to families in need.
